Nature’s landing strip…

The description this morning for this traditional garden flower is quite enticing. Take a close look; the tubular flower is a perfect design for insects and hummingbirds, and amazingly, the white rim at the flower’s edge is considered a marked landing strip for the feeders. Common Foxglove (Digitalis purpuyrea) has many compelling names too that stir childhood imaginations including mine. Aka Fairy Gloves, Fairy Bells, Lady’s Gloves.Read more here.
