It turns out that Bee Balm (Monarda), a prairie native, has many uses beyond as a treatment for Bee stings. It also, as most natives, has many names: Bergamot, Horsemint and Owsego teas. The pond is planted with prairie species and this one was thriving. Quite often when I see Bee Balm there are only a few tired blooms. This day there were many matured plants.
