Each little flower is cute; but together as spikes, they are striking. Formally described as resemling a candelabra, these particular Culver’s Root (Veronicastrum virginicum) blooms are heavy enough to appear to be melting. Often they can be seen growing upright like a candelabra. Copyright 2023 Pamela BreitbergThough described as resembling a candelabra, I prefer the Culver’s Root graceful arched behavior. Another wonderful prairie native. As the name suggests, their roots have been used medicinally by Native Americans and pioneers. Copyright 2023 Pamela Breitberg
