Once again, the naming of a plant can be curious and subjective. Meet the Areca Palm (Dypsis lutescens) aka Butterfly Palm, Golden Cane Palm, Yellow Bamboo Palm. Leaves are yellow/green to dark green while the trunk is bamboo-like. The clumps in this post were allowed to expand and create a foresty screen along a roadway blocking views of neighboring buildings.
