Red Bottlebrush (Callistemon citrinus) produces, as the name suggests, bright red clusters of flowers. This shrub can reach fifteen feet tall. After flowering, woody, bead-like capsules form lasting for prolonged periods. Leaves are evergreen. Copyright 2024 Pamela Breitberg#The showy flower parts are the male stamens. This shrub was in Sarasota Florida this past spring. But I couldn’t help but post it now after watching a night of fireworks. Notice the droopy Red Bottlebrush dangle from droopy branches.
