They do fly…

Peacocks, the male Peafowl, are usually seen strutting along the pathways and lawn on the ground. But they can fly. This one was observing visitors to Flamingo Gardens. It is an Asian Peafowl vs. an Indian version, evidented with the large eye spots on the end of its feathers. These large birds, Peacocks, can fly in short amounts, often to escape a predator. Often they spend nights safely in trees. Studies show their long tail don’t hinder their flight. Amazing. Copyright 2025 Pamela Breitberg
