In truth, it was my daughter who spotted this rare White Lady‘s-slipper Orchid (Cypripedium candidum) on the Chicago Botanic Garden’s restored Priairie. I was changing film (yes, it was pre-digital times for me). This is the smallest, native Orchid in the U.S. and near extinction.
