Summer heat hardiness…

As temperatures rise in the Chicago area, I found out that the shade loving Hardy Begonia (Begonia grandis) tolerates both cold weathers as well as hot summers. Apparently tuberous Begonias do better in extreme temperatures than rex Begonias. Very cool! Copyright 2025 Pamela Breitberg
Sherbert colored Lantanas are another heat tolerant plant. They thrive in full summer sun. My mother, in hot St. Louis, used to have huge pots of Lantana around the patio. Copyright 2025 Pamela Breitberg
