Learning from stranger…

Walking through the neighborhood, I stopped to photograph this purple flowering vine. Only after a stranger stopped to tell me how delicious this plant is, from flower to pod to leaf, did I choose to do a closer observation! Hyacinth Bean (lablab purpureus) is indeed a high protein bean is highly regarded protein source. Once I noticed the deep purple pods they kept my attention. Copyright 2025 Pamela Breitberg
