Peek a boo…

A few birds were eating seeds along the North Pond pathway and along came this Squirrel. The seeds were birdseed, so smaller than would aid his search for winter foods to store. Copyright 2025 Pamela Breitberg
Nowadays, I carry a small bag of birdseed to feed Birds in the park. Birdseed is safe on their digestive system; bread is frowned upon for them. Copyright 2025 Pamela Breitberg
Directly to my side was this majestic tree with a hole midway up its trunk. I regularly take breaks in my walks to soak in the atmosphere; to see things I might not if I kept up a pace the entire walk. And it was worth the pause this morning. Copyright 2025 Pamela Breitberg
It didn’t take long for the Squirrel to return home. As a painter, I was intrigued by the contrast between the wrinkly, old-looking, tree trunk and the soft furry Squirrel’s tail. Copyright 2025 Pamela Breitberg
I almost got the feeling he enjoyed teasing me and keeping me still to watch his antics. Copyright 2025 Pamela Breitberg
And yes, he came back down the trunk to reinspect the dropped food on the pathway. I found a new friend! Most squirrels, in my experience, quickly hide on the far side of the tree when I walk. Photo ops are rare; so i treasure that morning’s experience. Copyright 2025 Pamela Breitberg
