Inside the Bill Jarvis Bird Sanctuary in Lincoln Park were a pair of Black-crowned Night Heron (Nycticorax nycticorax). This species migrates each spring and has a long history of giving birth in trees above the children’s zoo section of Lincoln Park Zoo. This section of the zoo is closed during this time of year. This pair chose a quieter, less populated space. I needed my long lens to capture them through the fence that surrounds the sanctuary. Happy Thursday my dear.
