Along the path around the Jarvis Bird Sanctuary in Lincoln Park it was clear someone left breakfast for the Avian and Squirrel wildlife. I walked around the raised boardwalk to leave them to enjoy their breakfast. Copyright 2026 Pamela BreitbergPlenty of morning treats for both birds and squirrels. I am one of those few that enjoy watching Squirrels. Did you know only 45 % survive winters in Chicago? Copyright 2026 Pamela BreitbergI love that the Purple Martin apartments are numbered! I assume it’s for human studies and not to keep them in their own space. Hah! I didn’t see any babies but as the Martin in # 3 shows its head inside the space; it seems they might be feeding young ‘uns. Popcorn is ok for birds as long as it’s unsalted and buttered and seasoned. Copyright 2026 Pamela Breitberg
