Just screwy…

Once again nature never ceases to amaze. The other morning I came upon these strange fruits on what seemed to be a variety of palm tree. Meet a Common Screwpine (Pandanus utilis). This tree is not a pine nor a palm. It is a monocot.What is a monocot? Read here. Copyright 2021 Pamela Breitberg
This Common Screwpine graced the sidewalks alongside these Ft. Lauderdale highrises. Had I not paused for a moment on my walk I probably would have missed looking upward and seeing the unique fruit.
