Morning walks along Lincoln Park’s Lake Michigan’s shoreline is always new. The sun, clouds, winds, and temperature lend to different views each morning. This morning a haze lingered as the sun slowly made it’s prescence known. The concrete staggered walkway is designed to deter flooding; last summer the lower two levels were often under water because Lake Michigan experienced extra high water levels. Only the naive dared to walk on those levels; some were wisked into the Lake’s waters requiring rescue efforts. My preference is to walk this lakefront path instead of the designated foot paths a little further west in the park that too quickly become pedestrian highways.
