When a nut is not a nut…

This Coconut Palm has “drupes” which are green and ripening. Drupes are the term for the Coconut Palm fruit. Like peaches and cherries which also produce drupes, there is one seed inside the fruit defining a “drupe“. While green it is full of the coconut water, so treasured by many. When brown, after about a year, the coconut water has been replaced into the equally treasured coconut meat.
