March 21, 2022March 21, 2022 Pamela Breitberg Cat’s tail… This fuzzy red “flower” is some sort of Acalypha, possibly Acalypha hispaniolae, aka Cat’s Tail. This is another genus that has over 450 species, hence my hesitancy to be specific on the one in this image. Firetail Chenille Plant (Acalypha pendula) is another possibly identity which brings to mind possible stories behind this naming.
