The Seelbach hotel in Louisville Kentucky happened to be our location during a tornado that swept through downtown one evening. We were quickly relocated to their infamous rathskellar for safety. These Pelicans grace the posts around the room and seemed most appropriate for this short event. Read about the history and lore of this incredible place. I never knew they were symbols for “wisdom, safety, humilty, charity, nuturing, generosity, and direction. As spirit animal they bring us these traits when we are need of them”. Interesting, contracting observations are to witness how graceful and skilled Pelicans are in the air and how clutzy they appear when they land in the sea. That being said, I am humbled by their survival and flight skills. And I thank the ones who have allowed me closeup images of them during my visits on the pier.
