Another siting…

Spotted this young Black-Crowned Night Heron inside the Caldwell Lily Pond. So it found a quiet respite away from the 550+ migrating/nesting family members. Copyright 2023 Pamela Breitberg
This silhouetted bird and its reflection in the Lily Pool is another relative: a Green Heron. Green Herons are much smaller and more often sited though this is the only one I spied that morning. I will share a more colorful image soon. Camouflage is important for wildlife safety; at first I thought it was a part of the tree. Copyright 2023 Pamela Breitberg
