Nature is always fun to observe. These Black-Eyed Susans (Rudbeckia hirta) seem to be growing on top of each other. Another yellow prairie flower, its height is average, between twelve and thirty nine inches tall; short for the yellow blossoms on the native prairie. It’s character makes it behave as an annual, biennial or perrenial. The ones in my garden always behaved as biennials and would show up whereever they liked; I never knew where they’d appear each year in my perennial garden beds.
